Frequently Asked Questions

We have collected the most frequently asked questions regarding the Boatwrapping service for Decks.

Is there a warranty?2022-08-09T16:03:39+03:00

Certainly. Our company provides a warranty. For details, please refer to the warranty terms.

What is EVA-FOAM?2022-08-09T16:03:46+03:00

EVA-FOAM is an alternative to the traditional carpet or wooden/synthetic floor. It is made of closed-cell RE/EVA that does not absorb water, provides excellent adhesion both when dry as well as when wet, does not heat up during the day and is resistant to sunlight. Due to its excellent shock-absorbing abilities, it ensures maximum comfort of passengers on board.

How is EVA-FOAM applied?2022-08-09T16:03:55+03:00

EVA-FOAM has its own adhesive that is specially designed for marine use and does not damage the boat’s gel coat when the floor is detached. No additional glue is required.

How is EVA-FOAM cleaned?2022-08-09T16:04:04+03:00

EVA-FOAM is easy to clean with liquid soap, hot water and a soft brush. Do not use acid-based cleaners.

What are the dimensions of the material?2022-08-09T16:04:11+03:00

The material is available in 120 x 220cm sheets, with a specific direction of the pile along its length.

How much does it cost?2022-08-09T16:04:32+03:00

There is a cost per square metre, according to the dimension of the sheets which determines the final area in m2. The final price depends on the area covered and the design. For more information, please call us at 210 2851225 or send us an e-mail at info@boatwrapping.gr .

Is it durable?2022-08-09T16:06:01+03:00

The manufacturer lists a lifetime of 36 months, which may be higher or lower depending on the usage, weather conditions, maintenance etc. EVA-FOAM is a “value for money” material which, however, does not remain unchanged over time. The boat must be protected from the weather and any water must be thoroughly drained. No type of adhesive can last long when it is permanently in water and dust.

Is it easy to apply?2022-08-09T16:06:08+03:00

It is very easy to apply, as long as you follow our instructions closely and carefully.

Is it easy to detach?2022-08-09T16:06:15+03:00

EVA-FOAM is designed for semi-permanent installation and may be easily detached without damaging the polyester or the surface on which it has been applied. Peel off the edge and pull slowly until it is detached. If there is any glue left on the floor, pour enough acetone to soak it, wait and then clean it using a soft cloth.

Are there specific designs?2022-08-09T16:06:24+03:00

There are plenty of designs that we can support on the material. For engraving, we use a state-of-the-art CNC machine or Laser to produce a Logo, providing our clients with great design options and capabilities in cooperation with our in-house designer.

How easily can it get damaged?2022-08-09T16:06:31+03:00

EVA-FOAM has been designed for gentle use, either bare feet or marine footwear. It can be damaged by heels, hooks, spear guns, or any other sharp objects. Of course, given that the material is applied in numbered sections, this facilitates local replacement at any time if an “accident” occurs.

Is it fuel-resistant?2022-08-09T16:06:39+03:00

EVA-FOAM is generally hydrophobic and easy to clean. Stubborn dirt, such as: fish blood, fuel, oil, bird or animal droppings, acid liquids and chemical cleaners should be avoided or removed immediately and the floor should be cleaned according to the instructions for use. Stains may be left.

What are the available colours?2022-08-09T16:06:54+03:00

Boat Wrapping always stocks the four basic colours (grey with black joints, dark grey with black joints, teak with black joints & teak with white joints). Other colours can be ordered upon request, after an arrangement with the company.

Can it adhere to a textured surface?2022-08-09T16:07:01+03:00

The EVA-FOAM adhesive has been designed to adhere very well to a texture surface. For better performance, the material should finish on a smooth surface, if possible, to ensure proper sealing.

How much does the material weigh?2022-08-09T16:07:10+03:00

EVA-FOAM has a weight of 1kg/m2, which means that, indicatively, an weight of around 10kg is added to a boat with a length of 8-9 metres.
